Arsenal on Alert as Real Madrid Request €9m For In-Demand Midfielder

Arsenal have reportedly been told what they will need to pay to land Esteban Granero after Real Madrid put a €9m price tag on the midfielder, according to Insidefutbol.com.

The Gunners were linked with a move for Granero in the summer following the departures of key midfielders Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri but Real were keen to hold on to the player.

However, the 24-year-old Spaniard has found game time limited this season and is deemed surplus to requirements at the Bernabeu.

Arsenal reportedly face competition from Roma and Malaga for Granero's signature  and are expected to make an official offer in the January transfer window.

Granero came through the ranks at Real before being sold to Getafe. He then returned to the Bernabeu in 2009 after they activated the €4m buy-out clause in his contract.

Despite not being a part of Jose Mourinho's plans at Real, the club are still hoping they can make a €5m profit from Granero's sale.
