Italian Giants Prepare to Raid Manchester Clubs for £34m Duo

Italian giants AS Roma are being linked with moves for Manchester duo Rio Ferdinand and Carlos Tevez, according to reports in The Metro.

Ferdinand has recently been linked with moves to Qatar and America but it is now believed Roma are interested in acquiring the services of the England international.

The 32-year-old's place in Sir Alex Ferguson's starting line up is under threat with injuries, the emergence of Phil Jones and Ferdinand's display in the 6-1 defeat was brought into question.

It is felt if a good offer comes in for Ferdinand Manchester United will consider letting him go.

Roma manager Luis Erique is a huge admirer of Ferdinand is is seeking the help of former England general manager Franco Baldini to try and persuade the United defender to the Italian capital.

Erique is also targeting United's rivals Manchester City as he is keen to bring Carlos Tevez to Roma on loan for the remainder of the campaign.

However it is thought there is a stumbling block with regards to paying the Argentine's wages as he is believed to on £250,000-a-week at City and would cost £25million should he leave on a permanent basis.
